11/08/01 - I have ceased updating this site for now. I am currently rebuilding the site, and it will be up in about a month (hopefully). Expect it to have a totally new look as well as to be more organized. There is a new site up with a great theme. It's called Maa'golas the Grey and is a biography of his life. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 10/03/01 - A deadline has been set for the contest at Startopia Post. All entries must be in by the 19th of October, at which point all of the entries will be posted and voted for on the forum. If you need to see the rules, follow this link to The Startopia Post Contest. The prize is this beatiful poster, signed by all of the Mucky Footers that were in the studio the day Startopia Post got it. ------------------------------ Also, the Eidos forums are temporarily offline for maintenance. They should be back up in a few hours. EDIT: Wow, that was quick. Within a half hour of posting this, the forum was back up. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 10/02/01 - I have just added a whole load of screenshots to the gallery. Also, I found some old peep concept art lying around in the nooks and crannies of different gaming sites, and I now have a guestbook (please sign it). One last point; I have made a logo for the forum. You will notice that I changed the picture in the link section to the new logo. ------------------------------ Two new missions by Sandra Linkleter have come out. Until I have a chance to put them in the files section, I will just put a link to her site here. (Don't worry, Sandra gave me expressed permission) ------------------------------ Man, they just keep on coming, and coming, and coming, and coming.... Those game reviewers must run on Energizer batteries! Another review has come in for Startopia, and as always, the outcome is positive. This review is from "The Player of Games". Although they didn't give it a score, overall, they were quite pleased with the game. See the review here. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 9/29/01 - Mathew Carrigan has fixed a few bugs that he found in his mission, and I am sure that if you are playing the mission, you will not want to play a buggy game. The link in the file section has been changed to compensate. ------------------------------ While I was looking around on my computer, I found some cool backgrounds. They are now up for download in the files section. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 9/28/01 - As you undoubtedly noticed if you've been here before, I have changed the logo, and unless I'm mentally ill, which I am not, the logo is much better than the previous one. ------------------------------ I will soon be starting an archive page for old news; the front-page is starting to get quite lengthy. Expect that be up in about a week. ------------------------------ The contest at Startopia Post is still on, so get your entries in. Again, for the contest you must "send in your best bio-deck screenshot in and when the contest ends, all of the screenshots will be judged according to how good you got your biodeck to look. The prize to be won is a Startopia poster signed by all of the Mucky Footers (see picture here). For more information about the contest and the contest rules, follow this link: Startopia Contest Rules. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 9/25/01 - There are two new missions by Sandra Linkletter; "The Newcomer" and "Sin City." See the file section to read about them and download them. Also, Startopia has been nominated for the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award (see here). I have full confidence that it will pull through to the end. ------------------------------ Crocidilic is accepting applications for the Startopia Multiplayer League until the 1st of October. If you want to signup, you have to send your name and username, e-mail adress, and location (the time zones must be worked out). Hopefully the tournament has a good turn-out. ------------------------------ I have contacted all of the other people that have Startopia fansites, and the people who have gotten back to me, (which is most of them) have all added my site to their links list. I have also contacted Mucky Foot, and MetalDog is going to talk to Mike Burnham, the studio manager (he also does the website stuff) when he gets back in a couple of weeks and ask him about adding all of the good Startopia sites to their links. I'm sure this will be good news for the other webhosts, as I know it is for me. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 9/23/01 - I have removed the music from the screenshot gallery. It seems that some of us with the slower modems were having trouble viewing the page, most likely because of the big file size of the music. |
